Online bingo industry observers are keeping an eye on developments in Greece, where government policy on gambling could be about to change.
The country currently runs a restricted gambling monopoly but protectionist gambling laws are coming under pressure to comply with EU standards.
Economic minister George Alogoskoufis is set to meet with European Commission official Charlie McCreevy to discuss the possible changes to Greek gambling policy.
Should the meeting go well, the Greek authorities could avoid being hauled in front of the European Court of Justice on charges against its state gambling monopoly.
The Greek online bingo market could, as a result, be opened to foreign investment.
