Notts man crowned Euro Bingo Champion

A Worksop man is the proud owner of a Chevrolet Aveo after being crowned the European Bingo Champion on Sunday night.

Robert Robinson was crowned the first ever European Bingo Champion on after fending off the challenge of 660 qualifiers on paddypowerbingo.com to land the top prize.

Thousands of bingo fans entered the first ever European Bingo Championships, which were run by leading online bingo site Paddy Power Bingo.

The grand final featured 50 players, all of whom took away prizes including a weekend away to Paris, a home makeover, free flights for a year, free bingo for a year, digital cameras and laptops.

Mr Robinson said: “I can’t believe it. I’ve never won anything as big as this before. It took me two hours solid to slug it out and qualify for the final but it was well worth it. I’m glad England weren’t in Euro 2008 now or I might not have entered and won the car!”

David Lyons from paddypowerbingo.com said: “The response to our European Bingo Championships was phenomenal and definitely something we’ll be looking at doing again in the future.
