Online bingo software providers Playtech have reported soaring profits for the first half of 2008.
Revenues of $81.4 million in the first half of this year mark an 85 per cent increase on the same period last year. Net profits have risen by 45 per cent to $37.2 million, a figure equal to almost 90 per cent of the net profits in 2007.
Playtech's Chief Executive Officer, Mor Weizer, told the Gaming Intelligence Review: "We are very pleased with these results, which demonstrate Playtech's continued progress as the world's leading software provider to the gaming market.
"Playtech is ideally placed to capitalise on the opportunities provided by the fast-growing global gaming market. The company has potential for far more significant growth and its unique business model places it in a strong position."
He added: "The board looks forward to the future with confidence."
