The votes are all in and have been counted and re-counted. The final results of the 2005 'Online Bingo Site of the Year' and 'New Site of the Year' votes are now confirmed.
We had a record number of votes this year so a great big thank you goes to the sites that competed and the players that voted.
And so without further ado here are the results; drumroll please...
For the award of 'Online Bingo Site of the Year 2005', the top five positions are made up of Bingonanza (5th), Bingo Hall (4th), a newcomer to the pay-to-play market Bingo.com (3rd) and last year's winner's Bingomania in second place.
A huge, huge congratulations goes to a site that has finished third in the last two awards, and one of the industry's founding fathers. Their experience has shone through in this year's vote; well done to Dave, Cindy and the whole of the team at iBingo, and to the players that voted for them - you are the 2005 Online Bingo 'Site of the Year' as voted for by the visitors of Which Bingo.com.
Although there wasn't a UK specific vote the top five UK sites in order were Think Bingo, Bingonanza UK, BingoMania UK, Bingo Boogie and Mecca Bingo. Next year there will be a UK only vote, alongside the main vote.
Now, switching focus to the award of 'New Site of the Year'...
We'd like to start by congratulating all the new sites that launched last year - it's great to see there are still plenty of well-run new sites coming along to keep the world of online bingo alive and fresh.
The 'New Site of the Year' vote always generates as much anticipation as the full award - which of those sites launched this year have sparked the imagination of online bingo players? Which set them apart from the others?
The top five 'New Sites' as voted by you are as follows; Bingo Billy (5th), Canadian Dollar Bingo (4th), Bingonanza UK (3rd) and 123Bingo (2nd). But the site that you thought was the most exciting launch during 2005 was A1 Bingo. Well done to the whole team at A1 Bingo - you are the Online Bingo 'New Site of the Year' 2005.
So, until next year - here are the results in full...
